Latex
Latex is natural rubber and the most widely used condom material. It is strong, elastic, and — when intact — an effective barrier against both pregnancy and many infections.
Latex is sensitive to oil. Oil-based products can weaken it, which is why latex condoms should only ever be paired with water-based or silicone-based lubricant. A small number of people have a latex allergy and should look for non-latex alternatives.
